Daphne + Shane | Intimate Silvercreek + Boneyard wedding

Daphne + Shane had brunch at Silvercreek restaurant in Urbana with their immediate families on Saturday morning. When I arrived, they were just finishing up some morning cocktails (more people should have Bloody Marys and mojitos for wedding brunch!). :) I did a few candids of them talking with family and ordering lunch, and then we headed out to just behind the restaurant for some portraits in the newly renovated Boneyard Creek area. It is beautiful!! And I could have photographed these two all day! I will definitely be heading back to the Boneyard for more portrait sessions soon! After that, we headed back up to the greenhouse for their ceremony and family pictures. Congrats, Daphne + Shane! Dancing Dog Eatery cake Urbana

Casey + David | Urbana courthouse wedding + Helms Park

If you’ve been reading my blog for very long, you know that I’m a sucker for a lovely courthouse wedding! I just can’t get enough of them! It’s like a perfect little lunch hour for me, packed full with love, a small gathering of family + friends, maybe a few details to photograph, and usually a little time for some romantic portraits just after. The judges and bailiffs are always so welcoming and kind to us. I’ve heard several judges say they don’t often deal with happy events, so the weddings are a nice change of pace for them. Casey emailed me months ago in preparation for her courthouse wedding in July, and we because social media friends over the months since, so I felt like I was meeting an old friend at the courthouse that day. David was so sweet also, and couldn’t stop smiling! I actually had to ask him to stop smiling a couple times – haha! Casey + David brought along a little turtle sculpture they bought in Barcelona where they got engaged, as well as an old ring box that made for some great detail photos. After the courthouse wedding, we had plenty of time to do some portraits with their family outside, and then we headed over to Helms Park to finish up their session. Congrats on your marriage, Casey + David!courthouse hallway photos

Abby + Justin : Helms Park Champaign engagement session

Abby + Justin met me at the relatively new Helms Park in Champaign on a rare Saturday evening session opening. It turned out to be prom central, but we managed to work our way around the park without any prom goers in the background! I'm finally happy to photograph sessions at this park now that the rocks have weathered a bit and lost their deep yellow color. Abby + Justin loosened up in front of the camera quite nicely, and we got some great images. The one of them sitting on the park bench with the purple flowers behind them is my favorite!
