Boneyard Creek

Jordan + Jonathan | Silvercreek greenhouse wedding in Urbana

I really do love small, intimate weddings with lots of personal touches.  Silvercreek's private greenhouse has had some updates over the past couple years, including the renovation of the Boneyard Creek area directly beside and behind the restaurant.  It's a perfect scenario -- a beautiful, bright temperature-controlled greenhouse with an outdoor portrait area just outside of it.

Jordan + Jonathan gathered a top-notch team of vendors for their intimate affair, and had friends and family do some of the decorative touches -- the caricature on the program, the stickers on the Hershey's kisses, the miniature greenhouse shadowbox, and the photo clothesline. We started out with a cocktail hour, followed immediately by the ceremony, and then family portraits, and portraits of the couple.

At the very end of the evening, I took the opportunity to play with my MagMod lights, and set up a couple of dramatic photos for the couple.  It was a fun night!  Congrats, Jordan + Jonathan!

Daphne + Shane | Intimate Silvercreek + Boneyard wedding

HBP_5715.jpg

Daphne + Shane had brunch at Silvercreek restaurant in Urbana with their immediate families on Saturday morning. When I arrived, they were just finishing up some morning cocktails (more people should have Bloody Marys and mojitos for wedding brunch!). :) I did a few candids of them talking with family and ordering lunch, and then we headed out to just behind the restaurant for some portraits in the newly renovated Boneyard Creek area. It is beautiful!! And I could have photographed these two all day! I will definitely be heading back to the Boneyard for more portrait sessions soon! After that, we headed back up to the greenhouse for their ceremony and family pictures. Congrats, Daphne + Shane! Dancing Dog Eatery cake Urbana

Maria + David | St. John's + Refinery wedding | Champaign

HBP_1350.jpg

Maria + David were surrounded by a great group of friends at their wedding on Saturday. Their wedding party were all such easy-going good sports, and they made our jobs so fun and easy. The Refinery was beautifully decorated with floor to ceiling drapery, champagne uplighting and gold chiavari chairs. I loved their long head table down the center of the room -- very unexpected and neat, plus great for photographers! I was present for the entire reception, so there are a bunch of dancing photos included below. I had such a great time photographing the dancers all night! And Matt from Elite Entertainment did an amazing job of keeping the dance floor going all night. The only thing I would have changed would have been the rain at the end of the night that put a slight damper on the sparkler sendoff, but still fun nonetheless! Leave a comment below for Maria + David, and after 50 comments, they will receive a complimentary 11x14" mounted print of their choice! jewelry wedding getting ready Catholic wedding ceremony St. John's wedding ceremony University of Illinois purple wedding party superhero groomsmen Trevett-Finch park wedding photos wedding couple portraits Boneyard Creek basin wedding photos Trevett-Finch Park tree wedding portrait with veil ring cake head table details cake cutting toasts first dances at Refinery wedding reception dancing wedding dancing wedding reception cigars
