A.J. + Craig : Lincoln Banquet Center wedding

I was so privileged to photograph a wedding in my tiny hometown of Easton this weekend. I went to the same high school as A.J. + Craig and have even known Craig for much longer as we were in the same 4-H club. I was worried it was going to rain off and on throughout the day, but it really only rained just after we had finished the portrait portion of the day. The storm clouds rolling in definitely helped though, as you'll see from a few of the photos below! We did the portraits at the Edward R. Madigan State Park in Lincoln before heading to the Lincoln Banquet Center for the reception. I had a few different favorite parts of the day, including seeing many people from home that I haven't seen in years, some even in probably a decade! The best part though was probably when the mother-of-the-bride goosed the brother-of-the-bride as they were coming down the aisle. Hilarious! Leave a comment below for A.J. + Craig, and after 50 comments, they will receive a complimentary 10x15" mounted print of their choice.

Grant : Illini Central (Mason City) senior photography

I traveled back to my hometown of Easton/Mason City recently to do Grant's senior pictures. Grant played on the Illini Central boys basketball team that placed 3rd in state in the IHSA Class 1A tournament this past March. It was pretty cool getting to see the Cougars on TV last spring! If you look REALLY closely at the first photo below, you can see the very bottom of two banners from teams that I was a part of - Scholastic Bowl! I will refrain from telling you the years. ;) I enjoyed being back in the old gymnasium for a few minutes. We chatted some about which teachers are still there. I think Mr. Means may be the only one... he's still plugging & chugging (some of my friends/classmates will get that one!). I had chatted with Grant's mom a few times over the past year and a half, and they were excited to get his photos done I think. We incorporated Grant's love of basketball and fishing into the session, and went to one of his favorite fishing spots. I have to admit, Grant's was the first fishing bow I had ever seen. And even though we had to dodge some rain showers and ominous clouds, I think we came away with some pretty neat images. Leave a comment below, and after 25 comments, Grant will receive two complimentary 3x3" accordion albums!
