When my good friend Emily from Pixels by Emily saw a few sneak peeks of my #hbpcolorproject (full post coming soon!), she knew she had to have some new headshots in front of the colorful walls! Emily's branding is rainbow colors, so these portraits fit perfectly! It's fun when I get to incorporate an industry-specific item or location into a business portrait. What unique places can you think of to help set your business apart from the rest? I'd love to help! Contact me to set up your own headshot session.
What a sweet little wedding this was! Erin & her wedding planner called it her "big little wedding," and that's for sure what it was. There was love and attention to detail present through every aspect of the day, but with a small guest list for maximum effect. Erin + Steve chose to have all white flowers, menus, and linens, with purple uplighting for the reception. Before the ceremony, I spent some time with both the bride and groom, and got to capture some shots of Erin's amazing shoes, her mom putting on Erin's necklace, and her 8-year-old son Carson writing a note for his mom. I then met Steve in the lobby of Hotel Arista for a few portraits before it got too dark out. We were lucky enough to have a few extra minutes after the ceremony for a few outdoor portraits (brr!), and I added in a bit of flash for some awesome shots of them with the twinkle lights surrounding the property -- perfect for a December wedding! While we were doing pictures outside, the guests were enjoying cocktail hour and having the room flipped from ceremony to reception. The room looked amazing with all the white details set against the purple lighting. Some of my favorite moments of the day were Erin's dad seeing her for the first time (cue the tears!), Carson looking up at his mom during the ceremony while Steve read his vows for their new family, and the newlywed game they playing during the reception. So fun! My husband Aaron was lucky enough to serve this wedding as both usher and my lighting assistant. :) Thanks, honey! What a lovely day we had at Allerton Park and Mansion on Saturday, May 16 with Melissa + Tom! Tom doesn't like to have his picture taken, but you'd hardly know it from these photos! My second shooter (Emily) and I were able to capture the couple in a very natural way I think, and I think they look very comfortable in front of my lens! Don't you agree? Melissa and her mother planned this wedding down to the last detail, and their hard work was evident everywhere we turned. The purple hue they chose for the dresses and flowers just popped against the natural backdrop of Allerton's Park and Mansion. A couple of my favorite parts of the day were when Melissa's dad walked her down the aisle, the flower girl playing Legos in the hall, eyeing the radar to dodge small rain showers, and the late-night nacho bar. Yes, you read that right: A NACHO BAR. Melissa + Tom, I hope you love these images as much as I do! There are many more where these came from that I have left to edit!
