Stone Creek

Emily + Bryan | Stone Creek golf club wedding

While Emily was getting her makeup done on Saturday, she asked how I felt things were going  since I'd been with the ladies for a little over an hour already. Then she made such a great analogy for a wedding photographer to a wedding -- she said I am like a canary in a coal mine, meaning I can give advance warning of any coming of adversity or trouble by how I'm feeling about the day. Suffice it to say, I was feeling really good at that point and did for the rest of the day, too!  No canaries kicking the bucket at Stone Creek that day!

I KNEW at my first meeting with these two that we were going to get along splendidly, and I hoped with my whole heart that they would book me, and they did very shortly after. We talked as if we were old friends, and Emily and I gabbed about our mutual love of color and natural, bright photos. They are genuine with each other, and you can tell that admire and bring out the best in one another. That is my kind of couple!

Since that first meeting, I did an amazing engagement session in downtown Urbana with these two, plus a headshot session for each of them during the winter. I anxiously awaited their wedding date, because I was sure it was going to be an incredible day full of love, kindness, and gentleness.  If you happened to see my sneak peek on Facebook, you probably saw how I said I would photograph their wedding 10x over -- and that's even with the 90+ degree heat and stifling humidity!

I am so thrilled for these two, and wish them a lifetime of happiness together!! Oh, and if you didn't catch their same-day edit from ParkLife Films, you will definitely want to take a few minutes to watch it -- and have some tissues ready!!

Sarah + Tyson | Stone Creek golf club wedding | Urbana

HBP_4366.jpg

Sarah + Tyson are a fun-loving, super down-to-earth couple who loves spending time outdoors together. They love visiting the Busey Woods in Urbana, so we started their wedding day photography there with their First Look. Then, on the way to the ceremony + reception site (Stone Creek), Sarah asked if we could stop by a Walgreens where she used to work to visit some former co-workers. I happily obliged! At Stone Creek, we were able to do all the family formal groups on the edge of the golf course, which I loved! Sarah + Tyson chose a unique purple + red color scheme for their wedding, which made for some cool floral and detail photos. A few of my favorite parts of their wedding day included the visit to Walgreens, the limbo game on the dance floor, their Cards Against Humanity & Jenga guest projects, and seeing the supermoon after dark! Such a fun day! Leave a comment below for Sarah + Tyson, and after 50 comments, they'll receive a complimentary 11x14" mounted print of their choice! groom and groomsmen at Busey Woods Urbana

Sydney + Steve | Kennedy's at Stone Creek wedding

Sydney + Steve were married on about the most beautiful late-summer day you could ask for, sandwiched right between two considerably crummier days. The temperature was perfect and the sun was shining, and all of their families and friends were so cooperative and positive throughout the day (as Sydney said!) so the day went off without a hitch. They were married in Robeson Park, just behind Meadowbrook Church in Champaign, and then we stopped off one other place for just a few shots of the gorgeous couple before meeting the wedding party back at Kennedy's at Stone Creek for the reception. Thanks you guys for looking fabulous and for putting together such a beautiful wedding!
