Emily + Bryan | Stone Creek golf club wedding

While Emily was getting her makeup done on Saturday, she asked how I felt things were going  since I'd been with the ladies for a little over an hour already. Then she made such a great analogy for a wedding photographer to a wedding -- she said I am like a canary in a coal mine, meaning I can give advance warning of any coming of adversity or trouble by how I'm feeling about the day. Suffice it to say, I was feeling really good at that point and did for the rest of the day, too!  No canaries kicking the bucket at Stone Creek that day!

I KNEW at my first meeting with these two that we were going to get along splendidly, and I hoped with my whole heart that they would book me, and they did very shortly after. We talked as if we were old friends, and Emily and I gabbed about our mutual love of color and natural, bright photos. They are genuine with each other, and you can tell that admire and bring out the best in one another. That is my kind of couple!

Since that first meeting, I did an amazing engagement session in downtown Urbana with these two, plus a headshot session for each of them during the winter. I anxiously awaited their wedding date, because I was sure it was going to be an incredible day full of love, kindness, and gentleness.  If you happened to see my sneak peek on Facebook, you probably saw how I said I would photograph their wedding 10x over -- and that's even with the 90+ degree heat and stifling humidity!

I am so thrilled for these two, and wish them a lifetime of happiness together!! Oh, and if you didn't catch their same-day edit from ParkLife Films, you will definitely want to take a few minutes to watch it -- and have some tissues ready!!

Leave a comment below for Emily + Bryan and after 50 comments, they'll receive a complimentary 11x14" mounted print of their choice!

Leslie + Ben | Navy + coral wedding | Joliet Country Club

I had an open Saturday in June this year, so I offered to be a second photographer for Brian L. Coss Photography.  I'd never been to the Joliet Country Club before, and I absolutely loved the building and grounds.  The evergreen trees served as an excellent backdrop for both the ceremony and some group photos of the guys.  I spent the first part of the day photographing details before everyone arrived, and then I got to take the groomsmen out to the golf course where they all were great models!  Ben looked smashing in his suit (and takes his fashion very seriously), and Leslie was breathtaking in her lace gown.  The couple attended U of I (like me -- Go Illini!) and I was a big fan of their subtle nod to the orange & blue with the navy and coral theme.  And the added bonus of succulents in the bouquets -- it doesn't get better than that!! Congrats, Leslie + Ben!

Andrea + Wes's wedding was recently featured on Perfect Wedding Guide!  All of their vendors knew from the word "go" that this wedding was going to be a showstopper!  The inspiration for the entire wedding started with Andrea's custom wedding ring, studded with sapphires and diamonds and in a fascinating diamond art deco shape.  The reception at Pear Tree Estate was full of navy blue, cream, and gold sparkle.  Off-white florals and tons of greenery added a soft, feminine touch to the whole affair.  The cake was black and white art deco with an old Hollywood flair.  The bride's dress was an ivory satin with a delicate criss-cross pearl beading pattern that tied in so nicely with the overall feel and theme.  The groom, groomsmen and bridesmaids were styled by Michelle's Bridal.  The couple also incorporated their dog Will for a few photos, and Wes's love of the Chicago Bulls with his sharp cufflinks!  I'm so honored and thrilled to be published again and to have a chance to share images from this great couple and wedding again! invitation dress shoes detail photos navy gold glam wedding details white gold cream wedding details bride and groom getting ready at Concorde Room First Look with couple's dog Will wedding party in navy and gray wedding couple seeing their reception for the first time navy gold sparkling wedding details indoor wedding ceremony at Pear Tree Estate portraits at sunset portraits on PTE grounds art deco sapphire wedding ring closeup shots Navy gold glam Old Hollywood wedding reception couple's entrance and cake cutting sunset candid and posed photos dancing wedding reception shots
