What a fun day! Corisa + Jeremiah's friends and family were hilarious and my second photographer Libby and I had a fantastic time with everyone all day without ever leaving the grounds! The Stone Creek reception space was decorated beautifully with the couple's gray, gold and blush theme, that tied in nicely with the bouquets, florals, and wedding party attire. I don't usually talk too much about shoes, but did you see Corisa's shoes??? They even made it into the sneak peek! This couple was game for anything and let me take them out not once, but TWICE for sunset photos. Of course, being on a golf course with an open view of the horizon makes it much easier to do this. They opted to not do a first look before their 5pm ceremony, but since everything happened on the Stone Creek grounds, I never felt like we were rushed. I scouted a few spots around the golf course and LOVE the couple of spots I found to do the couple portraits. The gray-ish green evergreens are always a favorite of mine, plus the added bonus of the sun filtering through the trees at just the right angle, it was a match made in heaven -- much like Corisa + Jeremiah! I had an open Saturday in June this year, so I offered to be a second photographer for Brian L. Coss Photography. I'd never been to the Joliet Country Club before, and I absolutely loved the building and grounds. The evergreen trees served as an excellent backdrop for both the ceremony and some group photos of the guys. I spent the first part of the day photographing details before everyone arrived, and then I got to take the groomsmen out to the golf course where they all were great models! Ben looked smashing in his suit (and takes his fashion very seriously), and Leslie was breathtaking in her lace gown. The couple attended U of I (like me -- Go Illini!) and I was a big fan of their subtle nod to the orange & blue with the navy and coral theme. And the added bonus of succulents in the bouquets -- it doesn't get better than that!! Congrats, Leslie + Ben!

Amanda + Steven planned a gorgeous winery wedding at southern Illinois' Alto Vineyards. There's an Alto Vineyards location in Champaign too, but this one is the "mothership," so to speak. :) Amanda + Steven have to be one of the most affectionate couples I have worked with lately. Steven could not stop gushing over his bride all day, and it was so, so adorable to witness and photograph. Living in unpredictable Illinois, I don't get to do as many outdoor ceremonies as I'd like, and this one will be hard to beat -- absolutely perfect weather, blue skies with just a few clouds, plus a pond and vines in the background. These two had several personal touches worked into both the ceremony and reception as well, including two friends singing + playing guitar during the sand ceremony, exactly 1,000 handmade origami birds for good luck (made by the couple and some of their wedding party), Instax cameras and film (like Polaroids!) for their guestbook, and beautiful decorations consisting of blue tones, burlap and wildflowers. The food and cupcakes were amazing as well!! Best wishes for your marriage, Steven + Amanda!
