Kaylee + Jason | Kankakee Elks Country Club | St. Anne + Martinton

The in-between intimate moments between a couple on their wedding day are always some of the highlights for me.  Kaylee + Jason took every possible quiet moment to embrace, whisper, giggle, cuddle, and kiss.  I try to be a fly on the wall during those moments -- I can't usually hear what is said, but I can tell that they love deeply and fully and are completely comfortable together.  No cold feet here!

Jason + Kaylee's love story began at another wedding. Jason's brother Brian was marrying Kaylee's "sister" Miranda from the 4-H House sorority (shout out to my fellow sisters!). Jason was a member of the Farmhouse fraternity. Shortly after returning to campus to begin the fall semester, they had their first official date.  Apparently it went very well, and the rest as they say is history.  The couple both since graduated, and accepted jobs in Louisiana where they now live.

Prior to the ceremony, Kaylee + Jason chose to do a first look in the church sanctuary where they were to be married.  That allowed us time before the ceremony to head to her family's farm for some portraits of them and their wedding party.  I would've LOVED to get some Herefords in a few photos, but the cows were too far out to pasture to hike out there.

The couple chose a navy and yellow sunflower motif for their day, and in my opinion, sunflowers are always a statement flower and make for some super happy photos!  Congrats, Kaylee + Jason!!

Christy + Ryan | Urbana Unitarian Universalist wedding ceremony + reception

Christy + Ryan are a fun-loving couple and I had a wonderful time hanging out with their family + friends throughout their wedding day and reception. Everyone was so kind, easygoing and hospitable to us and made the day flow so smoothly. A few interesting things of note about Christy + Ryan: 1) Christy actually proposed to Ryan, so he was wearing an engagement ring prior to the wedding, and so they had 4 rings to photograph instead of 3! 2) Ryan's stepmom made the cake and cupcakes which were SO delicious and she insisted I take some home, so I did! 3) Christy designed all the printed materials and signs you see in the reception photos. I am a font geek, and the program and menu were just PERFECT. I want her to design my next business cards and logo! A couple of my other favorite parts of the day were the choreographed Thriller dance at the reception by some of Christy's college friends (I believe it was unscripted??), the Italian food from Minneci's for dinner (yum!), the tree planting during their ceremony, and their photo booth room just off the dance floor. So fun! Congrats you two!! Leave a comment below for Christy + Ryan, and after 50 comments, they'll receive a complimentary 11x14" mounted print of their choice.

Stephanie + Robert | Champaign County Courthouse wedding

It's no secret that I love weekday courthouse weddings! I do so much of my photography work on weekends, so when I get the chance to shoot on a weekday, and over the lunch hour no less, I jump at the chance! As always, the lighting in the courthouse is terrible, but we make it work, and it's actually a relatively pretty courthouse, so that helps. :) Congrats, Stephanie + Robert and best of luck with your next adventure! sunflower wedding bouquet
